The Shunya N-BOX series can occasionally get into a state where it needs to be reset in order to resolve odd behavior. Odd behavior can be caused by an improper shutdown or other reasons. Symptoms of odd behavior on the Shunya N-BOX include:
- Video output that is black, despite power being applied to the unit
- Odd Performance issues
- BIOS lockout (setting and forgetting the BIOS Administrator or User Password)
- Boot directly to BIOS without the device being able to recognize any connected SSD’s
Resetting CMOS restores the BIOS to the default settings and can sometimes resolve these types of issues.
To Reset the CMOS/BIOS follow the instructions below #
-
Power off the device.
-
Press and hold the RST button for 10 seconds.

-
Power on the device. The device may take upto 1 minute to boot up, this is normal.
-
After resetting, boot the Shunya N-BOX and verify that the system boots up correctly. If the device does not boot and operate correctly, more advanced troubleshooting options maybe required.
